Prom-A-Palooza 2009 Well Received by Local Teens
The second Prom-A-Palooza was held on March 21, 2009 at the Assembly of God
Church in Osceola. Girls from
Buffalo, Bolivar, Clinton, Lakeland, Osceola, Sheldon, Lincoln, Stockton,
Ballard, Montrose, Fair Play, and Oak Park High Schools were able to take
home a beautiful dress, matching jewelry, and a goody bag filled with make
up, hair care products, and other personal items. Moms and grandmas were
also treated to goody bags, this year.
New dresses this year were donated by
DEB Corporation, and the like new dresses were dry cleaned by
Elite Cleaners and
Crescent Cleaners in Clinton.

A wonderful meal was prepared and served by Wilma Hodges, Gene and
Barb Holtgrewe, Ashley Bledsoe, Kendra Motley, and Jessica Motley on
beautifully decorated tables, compliments of Debbie Leiber. The meal was sponsored by
Nevada Wal-Mart. Cheryl Duly, WINGS Refuge, Ashley, and Kendra
helped the girls in selecting their dresses. Jackie Traverson, Traverson Designs,
Bolivar, altered dresses throughout the day. Throughout the afternoon the girls received a manicure from Laddie
Dyke and Melody Joplin, Studio U Salon, Osceola, a Mary Kay
facial and makeup instruction by Lisea Morris, and a hair updo of their
choice by Fantasy Cuts, Clinton, stylists, Felina Gregory and Renee Frost. Door prizes were given to the girls
as they left in the afternoon. Golden Valley Beauty Academy, Clinton, donated certificates for free hair updos,
Number One Nails, Clinton, donated $25 gift certificates, and
Evans Drug Store in El Dorado Springs donated a selection of make up.
Other sponsors for Prom-A-Palooza were
Clinton and Bolivar Wal-Mart. A Special thank you to the Assembly of God Church in Osceola for the
use of their beautiful facility. Prom dresses are still available. Call for an appointment.

If you have dresses, shoes, jewelry, or new makeup,
please call 417-646-2694 for a drop off location. Monetary donations can be sent to 4520 SE 450
Road, Osceola, Missouri. Please make checks out to Living Waters
Foundation. You will receive a receipt for all donations.
Always needed
Prom dresses in excellent ready to wear condition, especially in larger
sizes of 11 through 26, shoes, jewelry, purses and shawls. Items should be
in excellent ready to wear condition. |
