Stetting up camp is challenging, yet rewarding! |
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"

Jeremiah Camp
As a child I never had the opportunity to go to church camp. My children,
however, went many times and always came home excited about learning about
God and making new friends. Jeremiah Camp is designed to give kids who
don’t go to church camp the chance to experience the outdoors and draw
closer to God through Bible study, crafts, and games. It’s also important to see adult role models
build friendships with the campers. Our first camp was small but, successful.

Jeremiah Camp 2010
In 2010 we hosted two boys’ camps and one girls’ camp. A total of 36 children attended the camps and
learned about the life God wants us to live. Six children accepted Christ as their Savior! Praise God!!
Dates for this year’s camps will be announced soon. Our goal is to have our well drilled, restrooms/shower
houses built, and some kind of recreational water sport available for the campers.

Jeremiah Camp 2009
Two overnight Jeremiah Camps were held in July 2009. Girls and boys’ camps
were held at separate times and both focused on living a pure life by the
standards set in God’s Word, not according to the world’s standards. A total
of 25 campers from 3-8 grade attended camp. During the camps, besides Bible
study time, campers fished, did archery, crafts, and the challenge course.
As with all of our outreach ministries, campers were given the opportunity
to use a scholarship to attend. At LWR campers will never be turned away
because of an inability to pay. It’s those very children who may not be able
to afford church camp that we want coming out here and experiencing first
hand the love of an amazing God. Next year we plan to add a camp for older
campers as well as more dates to choose from. With the addition of a well
next year will also extend the camp to 2-3 days.

Jeremiah Camp 2008
We were able to hold a camp July 2008 with the help of the young adult Bible
study group from Gulf Coast Calvary Church in Biloxi, Mississippi. This was
a group of young people in their twenties who are on fire for the Lord. Two
of them shared with the campers about their experiences on the mission field
in South and Central America. We shared God’s love and salvation through
Jesus Christ through games, Bible stories, crafts, and the challenge course.
This coming summer (2009) our plans are to
have at least one boys' and one girls' Jeremiah Camp.
Our focus will be on purity.
Children today are bombarded with
music, movies, etc. that have stolen their innocence.
Our plan is to teach children that
staying pure is possible if they make Godly choices.
Of course, we stand on scripture found
in Jeremiah 29 verse 11 that tells us God has a good plan for each
of us.
